From May you will be able to rent roof tents from us at Roof Tents in Östersund! We have teamed up with Pär Sandström, who will help Östersund residents and fellow citizens who are hungry for rooftop tents on adventures.
Here you can rent roof tents in Östersund
Many Östersund residents probably recognize Pär Sandström, or at least his voice, from Östersund FK's matches where he is the announcer at the home matches. This summer he will also rent out roof tents. We took the opportunity to ask him a few questions.
• How come you started renting out roof tents?
I myself have been interested in roof tents for a long time and last summer I thought of renting a roof tent to test, but realized that there was no place in Östersund that rented them out. I then contacted Taktältarna in Åre to check the possibility of becoming the one who rents out in Östersund. And on that road it is…
• Tell us a little about yourself, who are you?
My name is Pär, I am 50 years old and was born and raised in Östersund. I currently work as a salesperson for Arla. Otherwise, I am an outdoors person who likes hunting, fishing and simply being out in nature. Preferably in front of a fire with a pot of coffee simmering on top.
• What are your expectations for the summer?
Summer is going to be awesome! Regardless of the weather, there will always be a lovely place to pitch your roof tent to enjoy - either the rain pattering on the roof, or a fantastic sunset over the mountains. Simply love the weather!
• Do you have any tips on good destinations for those who rent roof tents in Östersund?
Fjällvärlden is of course a safe bet, but I intend to answer eastern Jämtland.
Figure out how many miles of forest roads with associated small lakes and ponds are there. Mostly without any traffic nearby either. Try it, you won't regret it.
• Where would you most like to go on a roof tent holiday? Lofoten! It has been a dream destination for many years but I have not made it there yet. Imagine waking up and looking out over the Norwegian Sea on an early summer morning. Maybe, maybe this year is the time.
