The Roof Tent Blåsten - Hard Shell Tent

With the hard shell tent Blåsten from Taktältarna, you are ready for all kinds of adventures. This premium tent unfolds in seconds by easily pressing up at one end. When folded, the roof tent is only 18 centimeters high, which reduces air resistance and gives a sleek silhouette.

Sleep comfortably on an extra thick mattress

Inside the roof tent is a comfortable sleeping mattress made of 7 centimeters high-density foam. Under the regular mattress, you will find an anti-condensation mattress to counteract moisture.

The roof tent can be folded with sleeping bags/blankets and pillows still inside.

Windows can be closed either with the tent fabric or with mosquito netting.

Two sizes

Blåsten is available in two different sizes; Small and Large. The difference is the width of the mattress, which is 120 and 135 centimeters respectively. Perfect for 1-2 adults. A smaller child can also be squeezed in!

The roof tent is accessed using the included black telescopic ladder which you can choose to place either on one of the long sides or at the back. The ladder comes with a bag so you can store it either in the car or inside the tent while traveling.

The tent fabric is dark gray and made of a sturdy cotton blend fabric, woven with ripstop technique which makes it resistant to tears.

Unlike many other roof tents of similar models, the Blåsten roof tent has a specially manufactured height hinge at the foot end that allows the top lid of the roof tent to be lifted, providing extra legroom for taller people. The total length of the mattress is 200 cm.

The Blåsten roof tent is a hard shell tent and has a shell made of impact-resistant, colorfast black aluminum. The bottom plate is made of aluminum panels in a honeycomb structure which makes it very strong.

The gas springs that open the roof tent are made of stainless steel and treated with an oil coating to prevent dust and sand from entering.

A rubber seal between the top and bottom plates ensures that no water gets in.

Storage and dimmable light strip

Inside the roof tent there are good storage options. Six pockets in the ceiling, one of which is plastic for example for a tablet, as well as several pockets on the side walls of the roof tent.

Blåsten is also equipped with included shoe bags and an LED light strip that illuminates inside the roof tent. The light strip is dimmable and can switch between white and yellow light.

Roof racks for loading on the roof tent included

The roof tent is delivered with roof racks that you can mount on top of the roof tent to load, for example, a kayak or mount solar panels on.

And about the name. Blåsten is pronounced "Blue stone". Like all our roof tents, it is named after one of the peaks on the mountain where we operate and live – Åreskutan.

To mount Blåsten, your car's roof racks and roof must have an approved maximum load of at least 75 kilos.

The car's roof racks must have at least 78 centimeters of "clean rack", meaning without protruding plastic parts from the feet.

We recommend using roof racks where the beam lies on top of the feet and that you place the roof racks at least 80 centimeters apart.
