The Totthummeln Roof Tent – Hard Shell Tent

The Totthummeln is a robust and durable roof tent with well-considered material choices suitable for all types of adventures. The tent comes in two different sizes where the difference is the width of the mattress - choose between 120 centimeters or if you want to spread out on 136 centimeters.

It is a roof tent for those who prioritize really quick setup – in just a few seconds you have a comfortable sleeping spot with a fantastic view. When folded, the roof tent is only 18 centimeters high, giving a sleek silhouette and lower air resistance when driving.

Ready to sleep in less than a minute

The Totthummeln roof tent opens easily with the help of gas springs on the short sides and provides plenty of space to use the entire tent. Perfect for those who want sitting height (110 centimeters) throughout the tent and plenty of room at the foot end, for example for gear or a four-legged friend.

Inside the roof tent is a high-density foam mattress with a thickness of 7 centimeters, underneath which there is an included anti-condensation mattress to prevent moisture. Blankets/sleeping bags can be left inside when folding the tent.

The inside of the top lid is lined with cotton fabric that captures condensation and dampens sound. There is also a storage net where you can keep your belongings.

Panoramic windows on the long sides

The Totthummeln has large panoramic windows on both long sides that give you a magical view from the pillow. Choose whether to stretch the window covers for privacy, rain, or sun protection; or roll them up for an even better view.

The roof tent openings can be closed either with the tent fabric for blackout and rain protection, or with mosquito net windows.

You can choose which of the roof tent's long sides you want to use as an entrance; mounts for the included ladder are on both sides.

The roof tent is delivered with roof racks that you can mount on top of the roof tent to load, for example, a kayak or mount solar panels.

Durable hard shell in aluminum

The Totthummeln is a hard shell tent with a shell made of impact-resistant and colorfast black aluminum. The panels are made of aluminum panels in a honeycomb structure, making them very strong.

Between the bottom and top lid there is a rubber seal that ensures no water enters the tent.

And about the name! Like all our roof tents, the Totthummeln is named after one of the peaks on the mountain where we operate and live – Åreskutan.

Requirements for roof racks to mount the Totthummeln

To mount the Totthummeln, your roof racks and car roof must have an approved maximum load of at least 75 kilos.

The car's roof racks must have at least 78 centimeters of "clean rack," meaning without protruding plastic parts from the feet.

We recommend using roof racks where the beam lies on top of the feet and placing the roof racks at least 80 centimeters apart.
