After spending countless nights in rooftop tents and testing quite a few different brands, we felt we were ready to develop our own rooftop tent. A roof tent of the highest quality to which we can add all those details and functions that we think are necessary for a really good camping experience with a roof tent.
A roof tent with the goal of being better than all comparable roof tents on the market in Sweden.
The development work has been going on intensively during the autumn and the result is a soft shell tent that we named "Åreskutan". A tribute to the mountain where we live and work and a name that breathes adventure.
Details and functions of the new roof tent
The roof tents are on their way to us so we can't share any pictures quite yet. However, we cannot refrain from revealing some of the roof tent's many details and functions already now!
- The tent will be light green and the canvas for extra rain/sun protection will be grey .
- We will have three sizes for sale – 140 centimeters (2-3 people), 165 centimeters (3-4 people) and 180 centimeters (4-5 people).
- A good night's sleep does wonders for the mood, which is why the tent comes with an extra thick mattress of 8 centimeters .
- A mattress cover between the tent fabric and the sides of the mattress that provides extra moisture protection in case of possible condensation.
- Large sunroof for those starry nights when you want to peer out into the universe.
- A high-quality cotton/polyester blend ripstop tent cloth that makes the fabric stronger and prevents it from tearing if it gets damaged, while the cotton allows the fabric to breathe.
- Shoe bags included. The shoe bags are used to store your shoes when you are up in the roof tent. They sit on the sides of the roof tent entrance and help you easily keep your sleeping area free of gravel and dirt.
- A telescopic ladder that is super easy to fold out and fold and easy to adjust to the height of your car. Also takes up less space than a normal ladder.
- Roll-Up Window Covers To get EVEN better views from the top of the roof tent, we've designed window covers that can be rolled up completely as an alternative to strapping them up for protection. No disturbing tent cloth in the way between you and the views around you!
- Attachment device for the cover when the tent is unfolded so you don't have to take it off and put it in the car every time.
For those who want plenty of space, we will also sell an annex, i.e. an awning, which can accommodate either two extra people or, why not, tables and chairs.
Prices for the different sizes
The Åreskutan roof tent will be available in three sizes. The number in brackets is the width of the mattress. All prices include VAT.

How many people can fit in each tent obviously depends on how much space you feel you need (how well you know each other! 😉 ) and the size of the people.

The number of roof tents for sale is extremely limited and there is great interest.
