Totthummeln – hard shell tent

The Tothummeln is a robust and durable roof tent with well-thought-out material choices that is suitable for all kinds of adventures. The tent is available in two different sizes where it is the width of the mattress that makes the difference - choose for yourself at 120 centimeters or if you want to be able to spread out at 135 centimeters.

It's a roof tent for you who prioritize really fast folding - in just a few seconds you have a comfortable sleeping place with a fantastic view. When folded, the roof tent is only 18 centimeters high, which gives a nice silhouette and lower air resistance when driving.

The roof tent Tothummeln opens with the help of gas springs on the short sides and gives plenty of space to use the entire roof tent. Perfect for those who want seat height throughout the tent and plenty of space at the foot end, for example for gadgets or a four-legged friend.

In the roof tent is a mattress made of high-density foam, under it is an anti-condensation mattress included to counteract moisture. The inside of the top cover is covered in cotton fabric that catches condensation and dampens sound. There is also a storage net hanging here where you can keep your stuff.

The Tothummeln has large panoramic windows on both long sides that give you a magical view from the head pillow. Choose for yourself whether you open the window covers for visibility, rain or sun protection; or if you roll them up for an even better view.

The roof tent's openings can be closed either with the tent fabric for blackout and rain protection, or with mosquito net windows.

You can choose which of the roof tent's long sides you want to use as an entrance, fasteners for the included ladder are on both sides.

The Tothummeln roof tent is a hard-shell tent with a shell made of impact-resistant and color-resistant black aluminum. The plates are made of aluminum panels in a honeycomb structure, which makes them very strong.

Between the bottom and top cover there is a rubber strip to ensure that no water gets into the tent.

And then there was this thing with the name! Like all our roof tents, Totthummeln is named after one of the peaks on the mountain where we work and live - Åreskutan.

Requirements for roof racks for mounting the Tothummeln

To mount the Tothummeln, your roof rails and car roof must have an approved maximum load of at least 75 kilos.

For the Tothummeln S, the roof rails must have at least 72 centimeters "clean rail", i.e. without protruding plastic parts from the feet.

For the Tothummeln L, the roof rails must have at least 84 centimeters "clean rail", i.e. without protruding plastic parts from the feet.

We recommend that you use the roof rails where the beam is on top of the feet and that you place the roof rails at least 80 centimeters apart.
