Åre in the summer is fantastic and a perfect starting point to experience the mountain world in its full summer glory! Here we list some good places you can stand with your roof tent, mobile home or sheet ice.

Campsites near Åre village
Åre Camping
Åre camping is located just under a mile from Åre with a beautiful view of Åreskutan. Next to the campsite there are cycle paths and the pilgrim trail, perfect for hiking and trail running. Lake Åresjön is a short forest walk away.
Fall asleep right next to the Indal River to the roar of the mighty Ristafall, which is just a stone's throw away. Nice campsite about 20 minutes from Åre with plenty of space and a small cafe and shower/toilet.
Vällistegården's campsite
A small family campsite by the Indalsälven with Åreskutan in the fund. Among the birch trees at Vällistegården, you choose the place that suits you! Free wi-fi.
Parking for mobile home in Åre
If you want to park your motorhome in central Åre, Åre municipality recommends the large parking lot next to Åre old church (Kyrklägdan). There are only parking spaces and no arranged parking spaces and thus lack services such as electricity and water.
- Between May 1 and November 30, overnight parking is permitted.
- During the day, there are parking fees according to the current rate.
Free camping in Åre for roof tents, vans and mobile homes
Are you going to freecampa? Remember to show consideration by NEVER leaving trash behind, but leave it where you found it! I NTE carry out your needs in car parks but take care when you are inside the village. If we all help each other with this, we will continue to be able to use the places.
Dragonland
Large field with good parking right next to Åre village. Beautiful view of the village and the possibility to go down and swim in Lake Åresjön. Ok to stand some night but there is no access to toilets/showers
Ullådalen parking lot
Camping (almost) up on the mountain! Ullådalen is Åre's most accessible outdoor area. There are two large car parks at the foot of Åreskutan with a fantastic view of Mullfjället. In addition, there is a simpler toilet at one of the car parks.
The car park below Copperhill
The design hotel Copperhill is located at the end of the road in the Björnen area with a magnificent view of Åreskutan and Åredalen.
The parking lot at Tott
Old historic hotel Tott has been empty for a few years now. This means that even their parking lot is usually empty. Very good location for hiking around and up Totthummeln and walking distance down to Åre village, which you also have a breathtaking view of from the parking lot.
