5 more unexpected occasions when it is practical to have a roof tent

Do you see a roof tent's only use as accommodation on car holidays and when you're out in nature? What if! Roof tents are also insanely practical for many other occasions. Here we list some.

1. When you come for an unexpected visit

If you drop in on a spontaneous visit to your friends' summer cottage or villa when you're out on the road, it turns out that you're having such a good time that you want to sleep over, roof tents are a convenient solution. Your friends don't have to set up and make their beds at home, (perhaps they don't even have room for that) and you don't have to feel like you're intruding. We did that ourselves on Gotland when a spontaneous dinner with friends who rented a house turned into a late night. Roof tents give you the opportunity to be flexible!

2. When you get an unexpected visit

Maybe you live cramped, or you have a summer cottage where you want to be able to easily get a few extra sleeping places. Your visitors will surely think that it is more fun to sleep in the roof tent than a friggebod!

3. When you are going to weddings and parties

Sometimes it is difficult to find accommodation for those special occasions. Then it can be a smart solution to have a roof tent to sleep in. You save on accommodation costs and can often stand right next to the place where the party is. Plus, roof tents are an AMAZING conversation starter at dinner parties! We had some renters try this solution when they were going to a 40th birthday party and they were completely satisfied. They slept well and also received lots of curious questions about the roof tent from other partygoers.

4. When you go to a concert

When we were going to Husqvarna to see The Hellacopters, we brought the roof tent instead of booking a hotel. Found a good place to stand a couple of minutes walk from the concert area, which was a bit out of town, and slept well there instead of having to take a taxi to a hotel.

5. When you go to a festival

Those of you who have ever camped at a music festival know how awful it can be to camp at the festival campsite. Neighbors partying all night and playing a crappy song on repeat, the dead heat in the morning when the sun is on the tent and you have no ventilation. No, then roof tents are a much more comfortable option! Sleep in the roof tent in the car park or on the designated caravan/motorcycle festival campsite and wake up refreshed.
